Farever Lore Explained: The Sunling’s Fall and Return

The world of Farever begins long before players ever step into its floating ruins and fractured kingdoms. At its core, the game tells the story of an ancient conflict between two powerful forces: the Sunlings and the Nightlings, rival civilizations locked in a struggle that shaped the fate of all known worlds.

For millennia, these two powers existed in opposition, maintaining a fragile balance across the nine realms. That balance was ultimately shattered when a Sunling monarch harnessed the power of the Spark—a radiant force of immense energy—and sought to unite all worlds under a single banner. What may have begun as a vision of unity quickly became conquest, triggering an unprecedented alliance of opposing worlds determined to stop the Sunlings’ expansion.

The result was catastrophic. Defeated by this massive coalition, the Sunlings were exiled from their homeland and sealed away within Antelimbo, a distant half-realm cut off from their native world of Siagarta. This event marked the beginning of what became known as the Chrysalis Age, a centuries-long period of isolation where the Sunlings were effectively removed from history, trapped behind sealed gates while their once-great empire faded into legend.

For five hundred years, the Sunlings remained imprisoned, their civilization forced to survive in exile while Siagarta itself changed without them. Entire landscapes shifted, ancient kingdoms crumbled, and the world they once knew became a forgotten, fractured land filled with ruins, floating islands, and lost history.

Then, mysteriously, the gates of Antelimbo reopened.

This event ushered in a new era of rediscovery, allowing a new generation of Sunlings—your generation—to finally return to Siagarta. But the world awaiting them is not the one their ancestors left behind. Time has transformed it into an unfamiliar frontier, where ancient powers, forgotten structures, and unresolved conflicts still shape the land.
